Wet starts and brighter Tuesday

  • by admin

Tuesday: Morning clouds and showers will continue to cross the South Central along the fast moving areas of low pressure. Further north, the chances of rainfall are often limited. Highs will rise in the 1970s and 1980s when clouds start slowly exiting in the late day. The sky is expected to be night by night as the lows fall above the 1950s and the low 1960s.

Wednesday: A cool start – many people to the 50s; some are close to 60s – we will bounce back with quite a bit of sunshine over the course of the day. The high point will be in the lower to lower middle and lower 80s. Gradually, clouds will start to increase before our next system, which may bring some chance of showers after midnight, with lows falling to the lower level until the mid-60s.

Long time: Our next system will be expected to sneak past the area on Thursday and early Friday – much-needed rainfall expected in the area. Locally, it can hold up to 1-2 inches. We will be on the trend on Friday and heading into Labor Day weekend. Clouds and sunlight are expected to blend together in the lower to mid-80s, continuing to comfort highs – a trend that looks like it can continue even until early September.

Weather Color: Action News 5 is bringing an old favorite for kids – a weather program in conjunction with McDonald's. Every morning at 6:30 am Patrick will display a color of weather photos and display it in the air. You can color photos at the participating McDonald's location in the Memphis area, or you can click here to download the image. Color it and upload its name and city to ActionNews5.com – then listen every morning to see if your photos are selected!
