Kim Kardashian creates chaos in her midst all fair The actors. The glamorous group – which, in addition to Kardashian, also includes Glenn Close, Niece Nash-Bates, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Teyana Taylor – are filming their movie. people Shot in Los Angeles on Oct. 16, two days after Kardashian's brand Skims launched (and quickly sold out) its hot faux pubic hair thong. As Nash-Bates puts it, the conversation wheels quickly “come off” at the mere mention of non-traditional underwear. “Merkins are the new Birkin,” Kardashian quipped, prompting plenty of ridicule from women. Finally she told everyone: “Let's unite!”

Over the course of the three-hour shoot, it's clear how strong the bond they formed during the shoot all fairRyan Murphy's new Hulu legal drama premieres November 4th. As the women came one by one from the upstairs of London's West Hollywood Hotel to the hotel's ballroom for the shoot, each of them was greeted with hugs and compliments from the ladies who had arrived first. Kloss and Watts even pulled out their phones to record Taylor's arrival wearing a stylish black designer outfit and giant Garfield slippers.

A week before they started filming, Murphy hosted a dinner party so everyone could get to know each other. “I think it really set the tone for our relationship,” Kardashian, 45, said. “We had dinner together, talked, had some wine and really got to know each other on a personal level.”

Set in Los Angeles, all fair It tells the story of a group of powerful female divorce lawyers who leave a male-dominated law firm to open their own law firm. As the team takes on new cases and clients (played by guest stars including Judith Light, Brooke Shields, Jessica Simpson, and Rick Springfield), they also deal with personal relationships, secrets, and shifting loyalties.

“The theme each week is we have a story of a woman going through an unfortunate situation and we're there to help her,” Kardashian said. “I think the moral of this story for us women is that even if you're having trouble, even if you don't believe in yourself in that moment, your lawyers will be there, your daughters will be there to pick you up and help you believe in yourself again.”

Kardashian is first on the list and the first to join the cast, playing Allura Grant, a lawyer going through a divorce from her professional quarterback husband. “I mean, it's Ryan Murphy — of course you have to say yes,” she said of accepting the role, which was loosely based on her real-life attorney Laura Wasser, who served as a writing consultant on the show.

“Laura happened to be my attorney in two of my three divorce cases and her father was my mother [Kris Jenner]her lawyer during her divorce from my father. [Robert Kardashian]Kardashian said she worked with Wasser during her divorce from ex Kanye West in 2022 and Kris Humphries in 2013 (she also divorced Damon Thomas in 2004). “So she had a 40-year story, and I felt like I was inspired by seeing what a terrible woman she was.”

Murphy was inspired to make all fair Kardashian, who shares her first major acting role with West, co-parents North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, on the show's 12th season. American Horror Story: Exquisite. Initially, he pitched her a show idea based on her more than 15 years of experience in reality television. Keeping up with the Kardashians and kardashian family.

“I was like, 'No, I don't think this is something I'm interested in,'” Kardashian recalled. “I think he was pretty shocked by it.”

Then Murphy came back to her again, this time with a show idea based on her seven-year legal journey. “I absolutely love it,” she said. “I think what's really interesting is he came up with the concept first. Then he came up with his dream cast. Once everyone signed on, he wrote for everyone. He said it was usually the other way around.” Murphy would text Kardashian about each new cast member joining, “and I'd be like, 'No way!'” she said. “I didn't even believe it was real until I showed up.”

Teyana Taylor and Glenn Close.

While filming, Kardashian focused on getting ready. “I stand next to these guys and they've been doing this for a long time and I admire and respect them and they're the best at what they do,” she said. “Nissi would say, 'This is great. Why don't you try this?' Watching Glenn and seeing her character come to life with rage and tears . . . you learn something new every day.”

Close, 78, like her all fair The character Dina Standish serves as the group's mentor. “I'm very confident that everyone would say that we were all a little bit in awe because we had this experience to watch her and work with her,” said Paulson, 50. “She was so kind and generous to everyone.”

Nash-Bates, 55, added 101 Dalmatians The actress has “a wicked sense of humor” and Taylor, 34, affectionately gave her a nickname inspired by PEI: “She's Mama… Mamacita.”

In turn, Close said, these women “all mentored me” — things they still teach her, even on set. During the filming, Taylor demonstrated the “time it” (touching thumb with index finger) and “eat it” (touching thumb with middle finger) gestures.

Close demands an explanation for Eat It.

“For example, time your elf as he eats.”

But what is an elf? Cross asked. “Your hair!” Taylor responded.

Those preparations came in handy when Kardashian battled her team over TikTok. Watching her work, Watts, 57, said it was no surprise that the cast was in awe of Kardashian's ability to multitask during filming. “We watched her run a business and talk to her kids at night, like, 'Did your homework? Go to bed. What did you eat?' ”

Nash-Bates frequently “quizzes” Kardashian as she also studies for the bar exam on the spot, which she took in July after a six-year law apprenticeship and passed both the infant bar exam and the multi-state professional responsibility exam (California requires candidates to take the bar exam without an accredited law school education). She learned the results in November.

“She's studying law and working on the character and the lines,” said Watts, who plays Allura's best friend Liberty Rosen. “She crushes it every day.”

Kardashian took a moment to say that she felt like she was “torturing you to read my flashcards” between the lines. “It wasn’t torture — I was surprised,” Close said. Nash-Bates added: “It’s women supporting women in front of and behind the camera.”

But what would Murphy's show be like without drama? Paulson stars as Carrington “Carl” Lane, a rival to Kardashian's Allura who was left at her old firm and took on Allura's ex as her client in a divorce as revenge.

“I had to say some very offensive things to Kim's face,” Paulson said. “I actually spit a potato chip on her one time. I screamed in her face, like, 'Bah!'” I saw it get into her eyes. ”

While Paulson had worked on at least a dozen Murphy projects before this, she had rarely played a villain. “I had the best time, really,” she said. “I love working in a high-stakes environment, and I don't mean a set environment, but a set environment.” That intensity is often undercut by laughter. “Sarah and Kim would sometimes just look at each other and laugh,” Close said.

Nash-Betts, who plays no-nonsense co-star Emerald Greene, said she had never experienced “this level” of support on set. “Some of us are not newly hatched chicks,” she said, while Close pretended to be shocked. “We have some feathers; we've been around the block a few times. When I was on Ryan's set scream queensI've been looking for an adult to talk to, so I love you guys. ”

The youngest of the cast is Taylor, who plays Milan, an aspiring lawyer and mentee of Kardashian's Allura. However, in the trailer, Milan reveals a secret: She had an affair with Alura's ex-boyfriend. “Milan is the best on this team and they need to win glory and are figuring out how to navigate it,” Taylor said. “Alura was gracious enough to help Milan navigate it even though she made her mistakes. I think that's important because it shows the community and also shows that we're not going to put men in this community.”

Only a tight-knit community could embrace the gift of a salmon sperm facial like this one. In the interview, Kardashian said she was giving the experience to women as early Christmas gifts, in addition to merchandise from Skims, Balenciaga and Gucci.

“[My sister] Courtney went to Salmon Sperm yesterday to get a facial, and they were like, 'Oh, well, none of the girls have had it, so I'm going to give you a free one,'” she recalled. “I was like, 'Why don't you do it? ! '”

Everyone defended themselves: “Wait, I was so excited about these gifts, I guess I didn't open the envelope. Is there some salmon sperm in there?” Taylor asked. “Girl, why didn't you say anything?”

Nash Bates quickly chimed in: “I use mine!”

Kardashian wasn't the only one sending gifts: Kloss gave the women plexiglass name tags with the characters' names on them, which they placed on their desks. Taylor left some perfume in Paulson's trailer because she “bullied me because of my smell.”

Watts, founder of menopausal beauty company Stripes, said she would “of course be handing out lube,” and Close was surprised to hear the news.

“Glenn said, 'I don't think I get it,'” Paulson said. Close agreed: “I'm like, 'No, lube?' It's been so long.” (Watts assured her, “I'm going to set you up.”)

If the actors have any regrets, it's not stealing Close's phone to call her fatal attraction Co-star Michael Douglas screened the 1987 film at Jenner's home. Jenner – serves as executive producer all fair— hosted the screening after Kardashian revealed she had never seen the film.

“Glenn is drunk – why don't we take her phone?!” Kardashian asked. Paulson deadpanned: “Michael, you got the call.”

The women laughed as they recalled Jenner falling asleep in the movie (“Your mom suddenly showed up with her hair parted in the back,” Paulson told Kardashian) and Glenn's most memorable comments about each scene.

Close said it's been “a long time” since she revisited the film. “I was shocked myself,” she said. “It's nice to realize that this movie is doing really well.”

As for Kardashian's reaction? “It's crazy, from the outfit to the boobs to—” she said, before Close interrupted: “I love that she said the outfit first.”

In fact, Close wrote in her contract that she could take the wardrobe home from the set. “I laugh because if [Kim] “I could see my closet at home and I didn't even know how she would react,” Close said. “Every time I walk into my closet, I think of her.”

This prompts the group to make plans for their next adventure all fair Promotional packaging. “Glen, let's come over here,” Nash Bates joked.

“With cameras,” Paulson added, “and a bunch of mermaids.”
