Vikings win slight action after making a comeback defeat to the bears

The victory also caused some moves by the Vikings in this week’s Power Ranking, with the biggest jump being two positions. Here is where the Vikings enter Week 2 (scroll below for more information about McCarthy):

No. 11 (No. 1): Eric Edholm – NFL.com

Entering the fourth quarter, JJ McCarthy's first start was a nightmare. He completed seven of his 12 passes for a total of 56 yards, took three sacks and threw six, putting the Vikings in 17-6 holes. But when the Bears missed a shot, McCarthy encountered a lead of two touches and he started nuclear. Kevin O'Connell does have a lot of honors, and the latter does feel like one of the best coaches in the league. But a few years from now on, if McCarthy ends up hitting that in this league, people will talk about his fourth quarter in Chicago. Abruptly flipped the switch in his first regular season game, he led three excellent TD drives, scoring two points with his arms and legs, plus two points to Adam Thielen. Meanwhile, Brian Flores' defense began to come home on a pass rush, making Caleb Williams feel very uncomfortable after halftime. But the night belongs to McCarthy – a growing Bears fan – who found his way in some serious adversity.
