Fortnite is preparing for another update and expects a lot of creepy content at the upcoming Fortnitemares event.
Fortnite is not only due to its frequent weekly releases, but also because of the vast number of new features it offers. Update 37.30’s release introduces the driveable Dino Megazord and its cosmetics in Season 6, Season 4 Battle Pass, while subsequent update 37.31 brings the Daft Punk experience that makes the two weeks exciting.
There's more to it outside, as the leak suggests the long Fortnitemares 2025 event, which contains more cosmetics than ever, twists of traditional tribal patterns, and more. The event is expected to be bigger than ever, especially since it will also introduce new reload maps for players looking for a faster, more terrifying experience – all after downtime, which shouldn't last too long based on recent trends.
So, when can we expect to return to the game? Here's what you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite downtime.

Did Fortnite fall?
Updated 37.40 for Fortnite downtime scheduled in Thursday, October 2, 1 a.m. ET/9 a.m./9 a.m. ET. We first discussed this when we checked the Fortnite 37.40 downtime start date, and has since been confirmed by a new tweet from @fortnitestatus.
The game will delete the docking session half an hour before Fortnite downtime starts, giving players a chance to complete the game. Given that recent maintenance periods usually last one to two hours, we expect to take action again pdt/pdt/6am EDT/BST 11:00 am.
Fortnite update 37.40 early patch notes
The most reliable way to find that it's officially arrived in any particular Fortnite update is to check the Fortnite Community Trello board, where developers reveal the fix they are currently investigating, and what solutions are planned to be irrelevant in the game. Recently, the team has made more secrets about its roster of fixed rosters in any particular update, but here is what the board has tagged as “pinned in the next game update”:
Battle of Royal / Blitz Royal / Reload / OG
- Cannot sprint after using shock wave hammer – We are working on the shock wave hammer problem to prevent you from sprinting after bounce in the air. Meanwhile, the exchange of weapons should allow the player to sprint again until we have a fix.
Save the world
- Mushrooms cannot be consumed – Players may not be able to do it when trying to consume mushrooms – During the attempt, the animation suddenly stops without applying any effect.
This is not anything to do, but with regard to the sure change, that's what we have – the official content release will just have to wait. Prepare for the island to make it even more terrifying.
