Suns 120-116 Kings (October 22, 2025) Game Review

  • by admin

PHOENIX — Devin Booker scored 31 points, Jordan Ott scored in his head coaching debut and the Phoenix Suns came back from a 20-point deficit to beat the Sacramento Kings 120-116 on Wednesday night.

Veteran guard Dillon Brooks scored 22 points in his Suns debut and, with his typical arrogance, angered Kings star DeMar DeRozan with his physical defense in the fourth quarter. Grayson Allen scored 18 points.

Booker, now in his 11th season in the NBA, shot 10-of-19 from the field and also added five rebounds and five assists.

The Kings led by 17 points at halftime, but entered the fourth quarter and the Suns fought back to narrow the gap to 92-90. Royce O'Neale hit a three-pointer with 10:31 left in the second half to give Phoenix their first lead.

With 5 minutes and 46 seconds left in the game, the Suns expanded their advantage to 106-97, but the Kings then scored 7 points in a row. With 1:15 left, Sacramento's Malik Monk hit a jumper to tie the game at 110.

Brooks was fouled while shooting a three-pointer on the subsequent possession and made all three free throws to give the Suns a 113-110 lead. They won't be left behind anymore.

Zach LaVine led the Kings with 30 points on 13-of-24 shooting. DeRozan contributed 29 points and substitute Monk contributed 19 points. Nine-time All-Star guard Russell Westbrook, who signed with the Kings last week, had six points and six rebounds.

At halftime, the Kings led 71-54 on 64.4% shooting. LaVine scored 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting, including a step-back three-pointer with 2.2 seconds left before halftime.

The Kings were without three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis with a strained right hamstring.

The Suns were without projected starting guard Jalen Green (hamstring), acquired from the Rockets in the offseason for 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant.
