Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday that the New York Giants are planning to run for quarterback Russell Wilson for first-round pick Jaxson Dart, Russell Wilson as a substitute for quarterback Russell Wilson.

DART's first start will be against Metlife Stadium's unbeaten Los Angeles charger at home on Sunday. Ole Miss's 25th pick this year became the backup match for the first three games of the season.

The Giants (0-3) also had veteran Jameis Winston in the roster.

Head coach Brian Daboll said Monday afternoon that the team was “evaluating everything” and refused to declare Wilson as the starter, revealing the possibility of changing quarterbacks.

Wilson struggled in a 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night. He threw 160 yards and threw a pair of interceptions. He also had an ugly red zone late in the game, where he threw the ball down for the fourth time and was booed in the first half after the second interception.

Turning to DART is a move that can revitalize a disappointed fan base. Fans cheered as the rookie snapped up the second quarter on Sunday night. This is in stark contrast to Wilson's booing after a second quarter interception in his tie game in his first home game with the team.

Dart has been preparing for it since the Giants returned to the first round to bring him to New York. He has done nothing since he brought the fields to the spring. Dart started the spring with a third team offense and quickly crossed Winston early in the summer.

His first extended attitude toward the regular season NFL action will compete with the current charger defense under 300 yards per game.

DART will make the Giants offense and more options. His passing ability and area reading make his offensive version look very different from the first team all summer.
