The New York Rangers return to Madison Square Garden with a chance to get back in the win column and take on the San Jose Sharks at home for the first time this season. Both teams have struggled so far this season, with the Blueshirts managing just three wins in eight games while the Sharks are still looking for their first win of the year.
So far this season, the Blueshirts' offensive efficiency is just 15%, which ranks seventh in the NHL. The power play has been a focus in head coach Mike Sullivan's training because the Rangers need to start playing on the power play if they want to be successful. On the other hand, Igor Shesterkin is expected to start for the team. Shesterkin is off to a strong start to the year, leading the league in goals against average and save percentage.

Player to Watch: Matt Rempe
Matt Rempe has a long frame and it's hard not to look at him when he's on the ice. When Rempe and the fourth production line were deployed, they had an impact on nearly every shift. Although the scoring has not yet come, he has created many scoring opportunities.
More importantly, Lempe didn't become a liability on the ice. In eight games, he served just two minutes in the paint. Through the first eight games of last season, Lempey has logged 24 penalty minutes. If Lempey can continue to play at this level, his impact will be huge, especially in the final stages of games.
