In the recent World Cup qualifiers, striker Erling Haaland scored an incredible five goals in Norway's 11-1 win over Moldova.

The 25-year-old's goal before Brighton's defeat also brought his statistics to 88 of his 100 Premier League games, a player to reach that milestone.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot described Alexander Isak as “perhaps the best striker in the world” earlier on Friday after the Swedish international moved to Anfield for a record £125 million fee.

But Guardiola replied: “Erin is a little taller.

“Isak is a great player. You ask Erling is a forward-he’s a top player.

“One other person would say [Kylian] Mbappe, another person would say [Lionel] Messi, another person would say cristiano [Ronaldo]. It doesn't matter. This is an opinion game, and everyone has the right to opinions.

“I mean, I won't change Erling for anyone. I know him. He is cute as a player, and as a person, I like him.”

Manchester City entered the 197th derby after losing streak, ranking 13th on the list and Manchester United ranked ninth.

This is the first time they have lagged behind the Manchester Derby since 2020.

Hailan told Viaplay: “We lost two games in a row and it wasn't good enough, it's so bad. We need to figure this out and go back to the way we win. We can't afford the game because there are a lot of good teams.”

“Things to turn things around are perfect. We need to do our best to keep our donkey moving forward and keep moving because so far it's not good enough.”
