Orville Peck to release new EP, Appaloosaout November 14 via Warner Records. The country artist previewed the album's release with a reflective, nostalgic song, “Drift Away.”
The song showcases the ennui of a post-pandemic small town, with Orville croons: “Watching the kids ride down the shotgun highway/All the movies are closed in '21/High and dry and they have nowhere to go.” He adds, “It's not about leaving/It's about letting go, you know?/Drift with me/Drift with me.”

Next month, Orville will host his seventh annual rodeo. The event will be held November 14-16 at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, California. The show will feature performances from Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Allison Russell and more. Peck will play a different set every day, including the headlining set on Saturday, November 15th.
Peck's last album, stampedearrived last summer. Following his EP, Stampede roll. 1a collection of duets he recorded with Willie Nelson, Elton John, Noah Cyrus, Midland, Alison Russell, Nathaniel Ratliff and Boo Caron. Since then, Peck has released several songs, including “Tennessee,” a collaboration with Kesha.
