Denver – Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani took an incredible outing in his debut game at the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
Ohtani gave up five runs and nine hits in four innings and was hit by the line drive to leave Wednesday's game.
Ranked second in the second and third innings and first in the fourth, Ottani hit a 93-mph liner at Orlando Arcia, Colorado bat, which left him struggling and struggling. Ohtani said he was recently hit in the same position by the court.
“I’m glad it didn’t hit the knee,” Ohtani said through the interpreter. “I think we avoided the worst. So I'm going to focus on treatment.”
Ohtani started the 10th of the season after not recovering from elbow surgery in 2024. The runs won match the most appropriate race he allowed since July 2022, and nine hits matched the career highest.
“I put the team in a bad place,” Otani said. “It's just a very regrettable outing. I wish I could do better.”
Even after being hit, Ohtani remained in the game, walking in the bats in the fifth inning. However, he didn't hit the ball in eighth and was replaced by Alex Call, who beat him. Ohtani performed doubles and walks and expanded his basic winning streak to 18 games.
Roberts said he was “confident” that Ottani will face San Diego Padres on Friday. Even before his injury, Ohtani planned a series against the Rockies on Thursday.
He did not decide on Wednesday and entered the 3.47 ERA. This season, he threw no more than 4 inches or 80 goals. He threw 66 balls and went on strike 49 times on the MLB Worst Rockies in the Major League Baseball (MLB Wortst).
Ohtani hit .284, with 44 home runs, one behind Phillies' NL-leading Kyle Schwarber with 83 RBIs.
