Strong winds and heavy rain Thursday caused damage across the tri-state area, including power outages, downed trees and traffic disruptions.
An AccuWeather alert continues into Thursday night.
Newark Liberty International Airport, JFK Airport and LaGuardia Airport were grounded by the wind.

NJ Transit's North Jersey Shoreline rail service was temporarily suspended after a tree fell down and downed power lines in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Service has since resumed in both directions between New York's Penn Station and Long Branch Station, but delays of up to 20 minutes are possible.
Train tickets and passes are honored by New Jersey Transit and privately operated buses, as well as the PATH crossing at Newark Penn Station and New York 33rd Street.

The MTA Bridges and Tunnels Division announced that due to continued windy conditions, the agency will prohibit certain vehicles from using MTA Bridges and Tunnels as the weather develops.
Current restrictions include:
- Cross-Bay Bridge – Empty trailers and tandem trucks prohibited, shared roadway closed
- Ocean Parkway Bridge – Empty trailers and tandem trucks prohibited, shared use path closed
- Verrazano-Narrows Bridge – All tractor-trailer and tandem trucks, cars towing trailers, house trailers, minibuses, motorcycles and any other vehicle deemed a potential safety hazard are prohibited
- Throgs Neck Bridge – No empty trailers and tandem trucks allowed
In Yonkers, a tree reportedly struck an enclosed porch and uprooted a house on Rockland Avenue.
Power lines were reportedly energized on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and 86th Street in Rockaway Beach.
A downed tree was reported across East 230th Street from Lorre Plaza in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.
Downed trees also blocked roads in Corona and Flushing, Queens.
