Philadelphia – How about that amazing home? The Nationals looked very sharp in their 4-3 against the Phillies and Mets. Then what happened next? How about road trips to Philadelphia and New York?
They will not face the metropolis again. The trip ended at Yankee Stadium, not Citifield. But first, it's a weekend rematch with the Phillies and the Naths hope to keep the good resonance in a very familiar game.
Cade Cavalli looked great against the same squad six nights ago, dropping seven innings on 90 courts to win his first major league victory. But facing the same team again is a whole new challenge, especially at the beginning of back-to-back. Of course, at the first meeting, the Phillies knew something about Cavalli. It depends on the rookie right-handed (and the National Coaching Staff) to figure out what adjustments he needs to make in the rematch (if any).
Cavalli surpassed Taiwan Walker in his Saturday afternoon romance on South Capitol Street, and that's who the Nationals faced again tonight. The veteran right-hander allowed two runs in the 6 2/3 innings, which was the two-double defeat by James Wood at the bottom of the fifth inning, the lowest point of all runs in the 2-0 victory.
