Marshawn Lynch takes on a new role in this weird season — and…

  • by admin

It's officially horror time, and that means haunted houses, jump scares, and shenanigans around every corner. Some people are prepping for pumpkins, others are queuing up spooky playlists – and then there's Weedmaps, which take Halloween to a whole new level.

On Friday, October 3, the cannabis tech giant posted a “beastly” message on X (formerly Twitter), teasing what might be the most unexpected collaboration of the season. “Weedmaps Haunted Mansion: Stigmata will run from October 11th to 25th, featuring Beast Mode himself,” the company said in a post tagged Marshawn Lynch. “This outbreak has a voice you won’t forget.” That’s right — the 39-year-old NFL veteran is telling us about a haunted house.

This isn't Lynch's first time behind a microphone. Back in 2015, he voiced a gun-toting villain in the movie. Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Then in 2020, he upgraded Predator: Hunting Groundsplay as a fully voiced and modeled character named Dante “Beast Mode” Jefferson. So when Dishonored came looking for someone to make horror feel like entertainment, Beast Mode responded.

Created in collaboration with horror heavyweight Sinister Pointe, The Stigma is no ordinary pop-up shop. According to an official press release, it “brings guests halfway between a quarantine area within a police station and morgue,” where hazmat staff are panicking, officials are losing control, and infected people are closing in. It's fifteen minutes of cinematic mayhem – and somewhere in the darkness you'll hear Lynch guiding (or teasing) you through it.

“It's great to be the voice of 'Shame,'” the former Seahawks running back said in a statement. “It allows you to be part of the action without having to run through zombies yourself, you know what I'm saying? I'm excited for people to hear my voice and get a little surprise when they get scared shitless.”

Aside from her recent cameo in The Haunted Mansion , Lynch has been keeping busy. The five-time Pro Bowler reportedly recently partnered with Originals to relaunch his cannabis brand Dodi High timeincluding new varieties such as Beast Berry, Milk & Cookies and Charlie OG. His creative output continues to accumulate, too—in September, Lynch signed a deal with Amazon-MGM Studios for a new PI comedy series, and he remains a regular on Prime Video. 'N Yo' City.

And he's no stranger to scares, either. Halloween 2024 is approaching 'N Yo' City The clip shows Lynch walking through the lobby of a haunted attraction, joking, “Oh, I got scared!” Weedmaps attacked him next, and he went all out.

“Halloween has always been fun for me, with a scare of course, and some candy, but always ending with laughter and fun,” Lynch said. “Weedmaps brings something different, something creative, and I'm excited to be a part of it. People are going to have a great time there.”
