Marshall Faulk

While the external assumption is that Deion Sanders are just leaving Colorado for a more compelling job, one member of his coaching staff is opposing the narrative based on his efforts to work for the team.

Professional Football Hall of Fame member Marshall Faulk, who serves as Colorado guard coach, told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg

“Every morning, he would rise up. He was there when he was practicing. He was not only a lascivious coach.

After the 2024 season, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter left the program, and people think that coach Prime may follow suit. He hosted the Dallas Cowboys’ head vacant in at least January and decided to stay.

The University of Colorado awarded Sanders for five years in March with a five-year, $54 million contract. His average annual salary of $10.8 million tied with Texas's Steve Sarkisian to rank fifth among all FBS coaches this season.

Sanders' guidance appears uncertain in the future and now has no cancer after revealing in July that he has undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his bladder earlier this year.

The 58-year-old Sanders explained that he still had difficulty using the bathroom due to complications from the surgery, losing 25 pounds at some point.

Despite health issues that led to his first will, Sanders said he “never thought of” resigning from his position in Colorado.

Sanders enters the Buffalo's third season. He led them to a 9-4 record in 2024, the biggest win of the season since 2016 (10-4).

Colorado will open at home against Georgia Tech on Friday night.
