The club announced Friday that LAFC midfielder Igor Jesus will miss the rest of the 2025 MLS season after a tear on his left knee.
Jesus was injured in the first half of the LAFC's 1-1 draw at Dallas FC last weekend.
The 22-year-old Brazilian joined the Black and Gold ahead of the 2025 campaign of Portugal’s top pilot Estrela Amadora. He signed a long-term U22 program contract.
This year, in all competitions, Jesus showed 1G/1A in 37 games. His goal came in the FIFA Club World Cup match on May 31, and he won the late equalizer in the club's final 2-1 defeat of club América.
Jesus is the second LAFC player to suffer an end-of-season injury in months. Central defender Aaron Long recently suffered a rupture of his left follow-up tendon.
Without Jesus, the midfield of LAFC was led by Mark Delgado, Timothy Tillman and Mathieu Choinière. Earlier this summer, they were loaned from Premier League teams Brighton and Hove Albion.
