Even though Jennifer Aniston suffers from infertility, she does not want to adopt a child.

While appearing on Wondery+ Early Access armchair specialist podcast, morning show The 56-year-old star revealed the reasons why she was never interested in adoption.

Aniston has previously spoken publicly about her struggles with infertility, including going through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and how she no longer considered getting pregnant.

The topic of adoption came up after co-host Monica Padman discussed her experience freezing her eggs.

Padman said she was hesitant about wanting kids, noting “maybe it's okay if I don't want kids,” before asking Aniston if she's found “peace” on the other side of having kids.

“It's so peaceful,” Aniston replied. “But I would say there comes a point where things are out of my control. There's nothing I can do about it.”

“When people say, 'But you can adopt,' I don't want to adopt,” she continued. “I want a little person with my own DNA in it. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I want it.”

Although Aniston said it's something she really doesn't want to talk about, she admitted that there are times when she meets someone and thinks they “will make some great kids.” However, this emotion “passes within three seconds.”

The actress said it's something you end up romanticizing after “being on the other side of it because it's out of your control.”

“Whatever the plan was, it wasn't in the plan at all,” she said. She later added, “It was very emotional, especially in the moment when they said 'that's it,' because there's a weird moment when that happens.”

In 2022 interview lure, Aniston said she has “zero regrets” about how her fertility journey turned out “a few years ago.”
