How Jaguars' Cam Little regained confidence in bye

  • by admin

Cam Little may not have been the only reason the Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a 35-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in their last game in London, but he certainly didn't help. The final score suggested that Jacksonville was thoroughly eviscerated throughout the game, but that was not the case.

The Jaguars got off to a slow start against the Rams, but had a chance to cut the lead to 11 points with seven minutes left in the first half. Instead, Little missed a 50-yard hook shot from the left. Los Angeles then took advantage of the short field and defeated Jacksonville by a score of 21-0.

From that point on, the Jaguars were able to move the ball well but couldn't score. Trailing by a wide margin and Little's early fumble, head coach Liam Cohen chose to keep chasing after falling behind for the fourth time in three consecutive sets in an attempt to regain the game. Jacksonville comes up short every time.

The Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7, and it wasn't the first time Cam Little has been out this season. He struggled all year long. In seven games, he has made four field goals, increasing his career field goal percentage by 300 percent.

Going into the season, Little's thigh was expected to be a source of strength and confidence for this team, especially after he knocked down a 70-yard field goal in the preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars haven't given up on him yet. While some players took advantage of the Week 8 bye to recuperate, Little got to work. According to special teams coordinator Heath Farwell, Jacksonville's kicker rediscovered his roots during the break:

“We got an opportunity and the bye week was the perfect time for him, for me, for everyone, all of our players and coaches to get a fresh start and get back to what you do. Cam hits the ball as well as anyone in the league. So, to get back to that, and him being able to come back to his hometown in Oklahoma City and kick his old stumps. For him to be able to come back and do what he does, we had some great conversations — it was really cool.” Good. ”

“It's part of his process as a young kicker, as a young specialist. You hate to see it happen, kind of like this little bump, but that's just part of it. I told him, 'When you're 15 You'll probably have three or four of those situations in your career. So, that's how we're going to handle it,' we're going to work through it with him. It's cool to get him done in his bye week and I'm excited to see him play on Sunday and it's going to be cool to see him perform.”
