Heidi Klum's daughter is celebrating another trip around the sun.
The proud mom and supermodel, 52, paid tribute to Lou on Instagram to mark her 16th birthday. In the post, Klum included several throwback photos and videos of her daughter and family throughout the years.
“Happy 16th birthday Lou, my beautiful sunshine ❤️🎁🥳🎈🌺🎂,” she posted on Thursday, October 9. “I love you with all my heart❤️”
In addition to Lou, Krum is also the mother to John, 18, Henry, 20, and Leni, 21. She shares her children with ex-husband Hill. The children also spend time with Klum's current husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, who considers himself an “extra dad” to their four children.
In a 2021 interview with People, Klum said her youngest daughter was the only one of her children to inherit her love of Halloween. this America's Got Talent Judge is known for her huge Halloween parties and epic costumes, a tradition she hopes to pass down to her children. Most of her children, however, “don't care at all” about the holiday.
“I even wish I could pass that on to my kids, but out of the four, there's only one person who really wants to do that, and that's Lou,” Klum said, noting that Lou dressed up as an anime character that year, with “full makeup, hair and all the accessories.”
The family of six recently stepped out for photos together at a rare event in her native Germany. They each wore outfits inspired by traditional Bavarian costumes for the event in Munich on Thursday, September 18. According to WWD , Klum hosted an Oktoberfest-inspired party at the Hofbräuhaus with Alessandra Ambrosio.
Klum wore a red and white dress – a traditional dress with a strappy bodice and wide apron skirt. She paired the look with a red flower crown and a necklace that read “Tom” in honor of Kaulitz, 36.
Meanwhile, the men of the family wore leather shorts with vests and button-down shirts.

The doting mom also opened up about motherhood to People in an exclusive interview in July.
“When they're little, you worry about them jumping in the pool or sticking their fingers in an outlet,” she said.
“Then they start driving. Then comes sex, drugs and rock and roll. You hope the seed you plant in them will grow,” Crump continued. “They're good people. They're healthy. But you always worry. And I know I'll still worry when I'm 80.”
