The Vegas Golden Knights starting goaltender did not start the second period of the team's road game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
While it's unclear what prompted the exit, Hill took a shot through his facemask on the opening possession, knocking off his helmet, and then blocked another with his chest before the game was blown away.
The 29-year-old looked shaken but stayed in the game for the remainder of the game, when he blocked eight of the 10 shots he faced.
Backup netminder Akira Schmid replaced Hill at the start of the middle inning.
Hill entered the night with a 3.24 GAA and .854 save percentage in two games — a penalty shootout loss and then an overtime loss.
