What if I win the jackpot?
The jackpot winners can choose annuity or cash payment.
According to the Mega Millions website, an annuity will be paid immediately, followed by a 29-year payment. Each payment is 5% larger than the previous payment.
“This helps protect the lifestyle and purchasing power of the winners during inflationary times,” Mega Millions said.
The cash option is a one-time payment, equal to all cash in the Mega Millions Jackpot Prive pool.
If two or more people win the jackpot on the same drawing, the money in all winning tickets is shared equally.
