SAN FRANCISCO – Justin Verlander finally won the game at home since joining the Giants and backed by Matt Chapman's sixth inning home run and Wilmer Flores' earlier team, San Francisco beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Verlander (2-10) made two runs on seven hits, hitting five innings and walking two in six innings. He played 0-6 at home this season, with the Giants signing a $15 million year-on-year contract with a 3-9 run in his first 12 outings at Oracle Park.

Chapman won his third straight home run after four straight games in San Francisco.

Rafael Devers ranked fifth in the fifth inning after doubled Heliot Ramos to tie it up. Carson Kelly took the lead in Chicago in the institution.

Flores won an early lead on his second win. Matt Shaw tied it up with a fourth-place RBI single.

Ryan Walker completed his 12th save.

Matthew Boyd (12-7) beat eight games in 5 1/3 innings, who won three straight wins. His last game against Milwaukee, lefty finished his four wins, and he scored 0-3.

Pete Crow-Armstrong doubled in two knockouts in the fifth inning, hitting the fly ball with a left defensive score but quickly retrieved the ball and fired a shot at Casey Schmitt in second place, while Crow-Armstrong was initially called on the tag.
