The parents of a missing 7-month-old boy in Southern California have been charged with murder.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office alleges that Jake Haro, 32, and his wife, Rebecca Haro, 41, were in the death of his son Emmanuel, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

They are also charged with filing false police reports, a misdemeanor.

It was scheduled to be arraigned later on Tuesday. It is not known whether they have lawyers.

The boy has not been found and authorities say they think he is dead.

Rebecca Haro told authorities that the couple had been arrested for more than a week and had changed her son's diapers outside a shop in the San Bernardino County neighborhood in Yucaipa when she was beaten and unconscious. She told deputies that when she woke up, her son left.

Authorities said they later faced inconsistencies in her account with Rebecca Haro, and she refused to work together. They searched for families in the Cabaton Riverside County community.
