Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts played the final of the Dodgers’ three-game match against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the bench on right fielder Teoscar Hernandez.
The change is in a bad two games against the Dodgers, who only won one game in their first two games against the Diamondbacks. Hernandez is 7-7, and so far the series strikeouts.
“Obviously, he wasn't dealing with right-hand pitching,” Roberts said. “I think the two-day reset can help. He's a daily guy, but I do think where we are, you have to perform, too.”
Dave Roberts sat on Teoscar Hernández today:
“Obviously, he didn't handle right-hand pitching (.689 OPS). I think the two-day reset can help. He's a daily guy, but I do think we're in where we're and you have to perform, too.”

The Dodgers will face right-hander Brandon Pfaadt in Sunday's series finale. PFAADT played against the Dodgers twice this season and allowed only three runs to 12.1 innings. He maintained Los Angeles' victory in a 5-3 Diamondback victory in his debut game against the Dodgers in 2025.

Hernandez's split on the right-handed is much worse than the left-handed, with his .690 hits on the right-handed compared to the 332 hits on the right-wing. He hit only .232 against his right hand this season and hit a 27.5% strikeout rate.
The deadline acquisition of Alex Call on the right is Hernandez, who has a better performance gap against the right-handed this season.
Since joining the Dodgers at the end of July, Call has earned .777 OPS in 21 games and has hit .268 this season. On the right hand side, his OPS had 0.734, hitting just 15% of the time.

The Dodgers have to find some kind of solution for the offensive fight to maintain first place in the NL West, but is that the right change. San Diego Padres lost to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday, meaning the Dodgers are sure that the Dodgers will enter the next series against the Pittsburgh Buccaneers regardless of Sunday's results.
The Dodgers still want to avoid a sweep on Sunday to extend the lead and hope to do so after Yoshinobu Yoshinobu Yoshinobu. Their final game against the D-Backs series begins with PT.
