SEATTLE – Mariner Cal Raleigh defeated his major league leads 48th and 49th home runs against track and field on Sunday, breaking a single-season record for Salvador Perez's catcher set against Salvador Perez in 2021.

Raleigh beaten A's left-handed Jacob Lopez in the first and second. Both home runs were two.

Raleigh was the 39th and 40th longest ball for the Catchers this year. He had nine as a designated batsman.

Perez hit 15 home runs as DH in 2021, hitting 33 on the Catchers.

In one season, only four other players in major league history have hit at least 40 home runs in one season: Johnny Bench (twice), Roy Campanella, Todd Hundley and Mike Piazza (twice). The bench, Campanella and the Plaza are Hall of Fame.

Raleigh launched 27 home runs in 2022, then created 30 home runs in 2023 and 34 home runs last season.

Raleigh was the 28-year-old All-Star Game when he won the All-Star Game in July. He became the first sought-after and first catcher to win the championship. He is the second player to catch the crown after three-time winner Ken Griffey Jr.

Raleigh's home run gave him 106 RBIs this season. He is the first catcher to 100 consecutive RBIs since Piazza (1996-2000), and the first American League backstage to complete the feat since Thurman Munson (1975-77).
