Blue Jays' Game 4 win over Dodgers drew 14.81 million U.S. viewers

LOS ANGELES — The Toronto Blue Jays' 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday night averaged 14.81 million viewers on Fox, Fox Sports and streaming, according to Nielsen.

That made it the most-watched game of this year's Fall Classic and the second-most-watched Game 4 since 2018. Last year's Game 4 between the Dodgers and New York Yankees averaged 16.28 million viewers.

According to Fox, U.S. viewers peaked at 16.7 million late in the game (10 to 10:15 p.m. ET).

While this year's series will struggle to top last year's numbers, the first Dodgers-Yankees World Series since 1981, it's better than any other year.

The four-game average of 12.16 million viewers is ahead of the all-time low of 9.11 million set during the five-game series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023, and the 11.79 million average for the six-game series between the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies in 2022.

Last year's four-game series averaged 14.98 million U.S. viewers, the highest level since 2017.

Tuesday's game averaged 21.5 million viewers in the U.S. and Canada combined, making it the most-watched World Series game in either country since the 2019 series-deciding game between the Washington Nationals and Astros.

Through four games, the World Series averaged 19.3 million total viewers in the U.S. and Canada, an increase of 23% and the most-watched game since 2016 between Cleveland and the Chicago Cubs.

The Blue Jays' game in Canada is airing on Sportsnet. The network is owned by Rogers Communications Inc., the Blue Jays' parent company.

Major League Baseball is expected to announce ratings for Japan's Games 3-5 on Friday. The average number of viewers in Japan for the first two games was 10.7 million.
