Annual Report Ranked in the Worst Airports in the U.S.

  • by admin

According to the annual JD Power Airport Satisfaction Study, many North American airports are seeing record passenger volumes and “in most cases” passengers are enjoying their experience.

The 2025 study was released Wednesday, based on more than 30,000 surveys by travelers in the United States and Canada. The report ranks the best and worst airports in three categories: large airports (33 million passengers per year), large airports (10 million to 32.9 million passengers per year) and medium airports (4.5 million to 9.9 million passengers per year).

Here's what they found:

Why is the airport satisfaction achieved

The annual survey measures seven factors: ease of travel to the airport; level of trust in the airport; terminal facilities; airport staff; departure/go to the airport experience; food, beverages and retail, and arrival from the airport experience.

This year’s survey found that despite flight delays and cancellations, there is still a big driver of increased passenger satisfaction: many airports have completed large renovations or other projects, bringing better food, beverage and retail options to the terminal.

What are they talking about:

“JD Power found that overall satisfaction scores increased by an average of 190 points when airports create a true sense of location,” the report said.

By number:

Overall satisfaction increased by 8 points, 10 points for large airports, medium airports and 15 points for large airports.
