The event began to unfold around 8:30 a.m. at the Nunciation Church of Far South of the City.
Minneapolis – The Minneapolis Police Department confirmed that an active shooter allegedly opened fire at a church on the south side of Minneapolis on Wednesday.
Details were scarce, but a large army of police and paramedics arrived at the Ennunciation Church at 509 54th Street. Sources confirmed that Carl 11's Lou Raguse confirmed that an active shooter situation was happening in the church. The source said the initial information indicated a large number of victims, some of whom were children.
Kare 11 has multiple crew members heading to the scene and will have the latest situation and victims.
Wednesday's incident is just the latest in 24-hour violence in Minneapolis. Three people were shot dead in three separate shootings Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning. At least eight people also suffered gunshot wounds during the incident.
