Disney's ABC is introducing his recent controversy over Charlie Kirk's alleged killer indefinitely with Jimmy Kimmel's late-night talk show.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be snatched up indefinitely,” an ABC spokesman said.

Kimmel's representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The sudden announcement was issued Wednesday night after at least one major operator of ABC affiliate radio said the show would not be broadcast “for the foreseeable future.”

Operator Nexstar said: “It strongly opposes Mr. Kimmel's latest comment on the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other shows in its ABC-affiliated market.”

The Federal Communications Commission's chairman, who is consistent with Trump, threatened on Wednesday that Jimmy Kimmel's recent comments on Charlie Kirk's alleged killer “take action” against Disney and ABC.

In a monologue Monday night, Kimmel suggested that Kirk's so-called killer, Tyler Robinson, might be a pro-Trump Republican. “The Maga Gang desperately tried to describe the child who murdered Charlie Kirk, except one of them, and did everything possible to get a political point of view from it,” Kimmel said. “Between the fingertips, sad.”

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr told right-wing announcer Benny Johnson on Wednesday that the speech of the ABC late-night host constituted the “most disgusting behavior.” Carl suggested that his FCC could revoke the ABC membership license, forcing Disney to punish Kimmel.

“We can do this in an easy way or in a difficult way,” Carl said. “These companies can find ways to change behavior and act on Kimmel that would otherwise provide other work for the FCC.”

Carl added that broadcasters, including ABC, “have licenses we granted on the FCC, which is an obligation to operate in the public interest.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Carl attacked Kimmel “without talent” and suggested that the late night comedian’s comments show “some kind of desperate irrelevance.” Disney and ABC did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This is not the first time Carr has pursued ABC in recent months. In July, Trump-appointed people told Fox News that the long-running daytime talk show “The View” was “the Brigadier General now in this administration” and Joy Behar's harsh criticism of President Trump.

Kimmel has also been a regular target of President Trump's anger. Shortly after CBS announced the cancellation of Stephen Colbert's late-night talk show (Carr's public celebration), Trump suggested that “the next step will be a less talented Jimmy Kimmel.”
