NFL Week 8 scores, Sunday live updates: Bo Nix, Broncos offense stay hot, Jets win on wild Breece Hall pass

  • by admin

With just one game remaining on Sunday in Week 8, the Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Green Bay Packers on “Sunday Night Football” — the first time Aaron Rodgers has faced his former team.

It was an…interesting game, completely lopsided, with the Jets and Bengals actually providing the most tantalizing action of the day until the end of the game when running back Breece Hall threw – yes, threw – the winning touchdown to rookie tight end Mason Taylor for a 39-38 lead.

After a week of criticism directed at quarterback Justin Fields, New York's offense came to life in the fourth quarter, with Hall responsible for all three touchdowns in the period, including two rushing touchdowns. Jets legend Nick Mango died of complications from kidney disease at age 41, the same day the team recorded its first win of the season.

In Week 7, Denver scored 33 points in the fourth quarter to sneak up on the Giants, and Dallas defeated the Washington Commanders 44-22. The Cowboys-Broncos matchup seems to be a good cure for this disease. However, Dallas' defense was no match for Sean Payton, who orchestrated a perfect game plan and overwhelmed the Cowboys with 426 yards of offense. Sophomore quarterback Bo Nix continued his hot streak, passing for 526 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception, adding two more pass scores in the past two weeks.

The Cowboys took Dak Prescott from the game early after it became clear they weren't going to come back, and the Broncos followed suit the next game, sending backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham in place of Bo Nix.

The Knicks performed well today, shooting 19 of 29, passing for 247 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception. The offense gained 427 net yards, including 180 on the ground, and the defense picked on Prescott twice before things got ugly.

With less than 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter, 2024 sixth-round pick Joe Milton came on to replace Dak Prescott, with the Broncos currently leading by 27 points.

Wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens also exited the game.

On his first drive as quarterback, he found wide receiver Jalen Tolbert for a 35-yard touchdown to cut the lead to… 20 points with less than five minutes left in the game.

His first career touchdown pass came from the New England Patriots, who drafted him before trading him to the Cowboys this offseason – a 48-yard touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte, who is having a breakout season in 2025.

This is Broncos rookie RJ Harvey's third touchdown of the day!

The Broncos offense continued to dominate both the passing and running games, and despite falling behind in time of possession, totaled 418 yards of net offense, including 171 yards on the ground.

Brandon Aubrey successfully added an extra point, and with 7 minutes and 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Denver Nuggets led 44-17.

The Dallas Cowboys couldn't capitalize on the opportunity, and Dak Prescott threw his second interception of the game directly into the arms of sophomore linebacker Dondrea Tillman, who returned the ball 38 yards.

The Broncos got into range with this nice deep ball that gained 39 yards to WR Courtland Sutton.

Then Nix found Franklin and the two scored their second touchdown of the day. He and rookie RB RJ Harvey each scored two touchdowns in Week 8, and the Broncos led the Cowboys 38-17 in the fourth quarter.

Oh my God, Jonathan Taylor. He officially scored his third touchdown of the day — two rushing and one receiving.

That made the game the third touchdown-plus game of the season, with every game this year going for at least 86 yards and all but two games featuring at least one touchdown.

For those paying attention, coupled with Michael Pittman Jr.'s wild rushing touchdown and Josh Downs' 10-yard pass, that's Daniel Jones's 3 passing touchdowns today.

Holy Arm, Daniel Jones! He found wide receiver Alec Pierce deep for 50 yards, and just two plays later he completed a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Josh Downs.

Towns, who missed one game with a concussion and posted a 6-42-1 record in Week 6, now marks two straight games in which Towns has scored.

Taylor's second touchdown of the day was an 80-yard run into the house.

This will be the fourth time this season that he has scored more than three points in a game.

Not all “interceptions” are bad for the quarterback. The ending of Tyler Shough's first drive in Week 8 is a perfect example.

It wasn't a perfect ball, but it was good enough that it hit wide receiver Chris Olave's hand before Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield snatched it away and ran straight into the end zone — his second interception of the day.

The referees called a “play dead” after the interception, ruling Winfield was down due to contact, but man, that was a brutal end to Shaugh's opening drive.

The Saints' Spencer Rattler experiment appeared to be over, as the team replaced him with second-round pick Tyler Shaw on their second offensive possession after halftime.

Rattler did not appear to be injured.

Rattler was 15-of-21 passing for 136 yards, six catches, three sacks and a fumble loss. Chase McLaughlin's 55-yard field goal extended the Buccaneers' lead to 14 points.

Shoff, 26, was selected with the 40th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He made 42 starts in college, including 12 at Oregon, 15 at Texas Tech and 12 at Louisville. In his seven-year college career, he passed for 7,820 yards, 59 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.

Dak Prescott was picked off by Broncos rookie cornerback Ja'Dei Barron in an attempt to get Brandon Aubrey in position for a field goal attempt before halftime.

Regardless, it's going to be a long field goal attempt… but Aubrey has given the benefit of the doubt most of the time and currently holds the NFL record for most 60-yard field goals with five.

At halftime, the Broncos led the Cowboys 27-10.

This was Bonix's second passing touchdown of the day, taking advantage of his long-range shooting ability after an offside penalty kick. Nix launched a 24-yard grab to rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant, following up his previous 25-yard pass to Troy Franklin. The Knicks' 13th touchdown pass of the season, this is absolutely a perfect pass directly into the end zone.

Counting a wild comeback in Week 7 against the New York Giants, Nix has four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in his last four quarters of football.

Broncos second-round pick running back RJ Harvey was enjoying a breakout game as he scored his first career rushing touchdown and added his second just two carries later, hitting the ball directly along the goal line.

The Bonix then tried to push the deficit to two points but were unsuccessful, even though the Broncos held on to a 10-point lead with 3:47 left in the first half.

Harvey's first rushing touchdown of the game came in the first quarter, when he broke out for a 40-yard score.

Who doesn't love a good revenge game?

The Dallas Cowboys signed RB Javonte Williams as a free agent in the offseason, and he ended up scoring a first-half touchdown against his former team.

Williams' second NFL season ended prematurely after a knee injury with the Denver Broncos and never seemed to get back on track … until he joined the Cowboys as a free agent in 2025. Through eight games with Dallas, Williams has now surpassed his previous career-best rushing touchdown total (four) while averaging a career-high 5.3 yards per carry.

Tampa Bay felt like its lead should be even bigger heading into halftime when Antoine Winfield Jr. recovered a fumble after stealing and scoring without anyone hearing the buzzer to end the game.

The Buccaneers forced three Saints turnovers in the first half but were unable to capitalize, scoring just seven first-half points. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was 6-of-9 passing for 50 yards in the first half.

New Orleans was able to move the ball, but their progress was hampered by three turnovers. Spencer Rattler was 14-of-18 for 126 yards but had one interception in the first half. In this NFC South matchup, the Saints trailed the Buccaneers 7-3 at halftime.
