Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will miss Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings with a left finger sprain and left calf contusion, the team announced.
Doncic will be re-evaluated in about a week. The Lakers are optimistic Doncic won't need a longer recovery time than initially expected, sources told ESPN.

Los Angeles will face the Portland Trail Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back on Monday, then visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday and the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday before hosting the Miami Heat next Sunday.
Doncic's absence is a huge blow to the Lakers, who already lost LeBron James and now their leading scorer, who is off to a historic start to the season after averaging 46 points in the first two games of the season.
The Lakers also announced that center Jackson Hayes will not play against the Kings, missing his second straight game with left knee soreness.
