  • by admin

The New York City Board of Elections has released data from the first day of early voting as the five boroughs decide who will succeed Eric Adams as mayor.

Unofficial data showed that 79,409 voters were registered to vote in the city. Manhattan had the most votes on the first day, with 24,046 votes. In Brooklyn, 22,105 voters took advantage of their first opportunity to vote, and in Queens there were 19,045 voters. 7,793 voters cast ballots in the Bronx and 6,420 in Staten Island.

Adams dropped out of the race in September and on Thursday endorsed independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, the former New York governor. Cuomo is running against Democratic candidate Zoran Mamdani and Republican candidate Curtis Sliva.

Early voting will continue in New York City every day until Sunday, November 2. Opening and closing times vary daily.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, with voting hours from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
