During a dark time, 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner and his wife, Sydney, received exciting news.
The couple announced last month that baby No. 2 was on the way. On Friday morning, Sydney shared a happy bunch of sex cooking in the oven.
Warner will join 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Christian McCaffrey in the “girl dad” club, as Sydney posted a video on her Instagram showing the birth of a baby girl.
“Life knows we need a little extra sunshine this year,” Sydney wrote. “Hopefully Beau gets on board with this idea soon. Sweeter days are ahead.”
The couple gave birth to their first child, son Beau, during the 2024 offseason. Beau, Fred and Sydney all appear in the video, with Fred and Sydney biting into a cupcake whose fillings, blue for boys and pink for girls, will determine the gender.
The filling is of course pink.
Fred's dramatic reaction startled Beau, who burst into tears. As Sidney said, Beau would definitely come to terms with the idea of being an older brother to his sister pretty quickly.
Fred suffered a season-ending ankle injury in San Francisco's Week 6 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which immediately sent shockwaves throughout the organization and fan base.
He's vowed on social media to come back stronger, and now he'll have some girl-dad-like power to help ignite that.
