Philadelphia (WPVI) — A suspect has been arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of a Philadelphia woman, police announced Wednesday.

Kada Scott, 23, has been missing since early October.

Officials said the suspect has been identified as Keon King.

They said he had a “pattern” of similar incidents and asked any other possible victims to come forward.

Police also said they were trying to identify a car in connection with the case.

Anyone who sees a similar car should call police immediately.

“We are treating Ms. Scott as alive,” police said at a news conference Wednesday.

Just days ago, officials said homicide investigators were assisting in the case.

Scott was last seen leaving her workplace, a senior living facility in Chestnut Hill, on the evening of Saturday, October 4.

Before disappearing, Scott told people she was being harassed.

Her car was still working and her phone was dead, police said.

Action News has learned that police searched a home in the 5500 block of Belmar Terrace in Southwest Philadelphia last Thursday night.

The next day, police were out in force searching the Albury Arboretum in Germantown, about three miles from where Scott was last seen.

It was not disclosed whether any information relevant to the investigation was discovered.

Friends and family have also been searching for the 23-year-old.

“We went out to various communities looking for any clues we could find so we could report it to the police and hopefully bring my daughter home,” Scott said.

Now, as the search enters its second week, her family is desperate for answers and imploring anyone who might know anything to come forward.

They also started a GoFundMe. They said funds raised would be used to reward reliable information leading to the discovery of Qatar.

“You never know what little piece of information might apply to the bigger picture and might help get Kadar back home. So whatever you think might be helpful, please call and report it to the police department,” Scott said.

The FBI is also assisting in the search and investigation, sources said.

Anyone with information can call or text Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS (8477), or submit an anonymous tip online.
