Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles) is back!
tracker Season three kicked off with a dramatic reunion of the Shaw family, but it wasn't quite what viewers were expecting. In Entertainment Weekly's exclusive sneak peek of the season premiere, Colt Shaw (Justin Hartley) is helping a bartender who's being harassed when customers get into a fight. The veteran survivalist was taking down strangers and his friends with ease when suddenly he turned on a very special bystander: his brother Russell.
“Can you put an ice pack on my brother's face? I can't make him look ugly anymore,” Colter said to the bartender after the brothers dealt with their harassers.

But this season won't be all family drama. tracker The new season begins with a high-stakes, two-part case in which Colter will welcome Russell's help. What begins as a routine disappearance involving the wife and daughter of Renee's client quickly escalates into a dangerous confrontation with an underground operation known as “The Process.”
While Russell's return was a welcome surprise, many wanted to see him reunited with Colt's mother, Mary Dove Shaw (Wendy Crewson). In the jaw-dropping Season 2 finale, Colter reveals the shocking truth about his father's death, something that has haunted him since childhood. It turns out that the man who pushed his father over the cliff said he did it because Colter's mother asked him for help. Now, mystery surrounds their family, and Colter (and the audience) is desperate for answers. Why did Mary hide the truth from her children?
Colter had a lot to unpack with Russell after learning the hard truth. As a young boy, Colter saw his brother standing on a cliff and believed Russell had killed their father. That moment created a huge rift between the siblings that lasted into their adulthood. Now, they must face their painful past.

Russell returns to discover a new formation for Colter's team. Original cast member Velma Bruin (Abby McKennie), who serves as Colt's agent, and his skilled hacker Bobby Eckersley (Eric Grace) will not return for season three. Bobby's cousin Randy (Chris Lee) joined in season 2, and he will continue to help Colt in times of need, along with attorney Renee Green (Fiona Renée).
Russell's return is a welcome sight for fans, but the real question on everyone's mind is: When will Colt finally face the mother who has hidden the truth for so long?
tracker Season 3 will return on October 19 on CBS.
