“I knew this day would come, but now that it's here, I'm feeling so many emotions I never expected,” Smith wrote in the post. “Who would have thought that a kid from Greenville, Alabama, with only one year of high school football experience, would go on to spend an incredible 11 years in the NFL!”
Smith was drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens in 2015 and spent his first four seasons there before spending three years in Green Bay. In his 11-year career, Smith played in 175 games, racking up 70.5 sacks, 223 solo tackles, 16 passes defended and 10 forced fumbles.
Smith was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2020 while playing for the Packers and in 2022 during a one-season stay in Minnesota.
