New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe appears to be winning on and off the diamond.
Volpe struggled for the Yankees this season, batting .212 and hitting 19 home runs. He also had 19 errors at shortstop, which is somewhat surprising considering he's a Gold Glove winner. Luckily for the Bronx Bombers, he continues to step up when it matters most.

Volpe had a key RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning Thursday night. He also showed off his leather multiple times at critical moments.
Earlier, in the American League Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox, Volpe became the first shortstop in MLB history to have 15 hits and 10 runs in his first 15 career postseason games.

Volpe became popular off the field.
Before the MLB playoffs began, Volpe participated in a silent auction hosted by the Carlos Rodon Foundation. He was accompanied by a “mysterious woman” later identified as Elle Jowett.

Jowett, who is from Maine, is going viral on social media. She currently has 19,500 followers on Instagram.
As expected, Jowett pitched in Game 3 Thursday night at Yankee Stadium. She was excited about the team's win over the Red Sox.
Jowett posted a photo of her third game outfit and team captain: “woooooooooo.”
Next up for the Yankees is a matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays. The winner will advance to the American League Championship Series.
