M's 1B Josh Naylor returns to ALDS after dealing with personal issues

  • by admin

DETROIT – Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor left Game 3 against the Detroit Tigers after dealing with a personal matter.

Marlins manager Dan Wilson declined to say Monday whether Naylor was traveling to Detroit with the team, saying only that he had personal issues.

The Tigers and Mariners split the first two games of the series in Seattle.

The Mariners acquired Naylor, 28, from Arizona in July before the trade deadline. He hit .295 in the regular season with the Mariners and Diamondbacks, going 8-8 in the first two games against Detroit.
