Hot sticks around marathon weekend – Chris

  • by admin

Good night! We are heading into the weekend and we have some enthusiasm to heat up. Saturday's height is expected to reach 90°, which can match or exceed the 1922 89° record. Gusts at a speed factor of 30-40 mph, which will be a toast, relaxing weekend.

Sunday brought Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, and conditions will be warmer than usual in early October. Morning lows will approach 70 at 70, but afternoon highs can climb into the 80s with wet humidity. This means both runners and spectators should speed up on their own, hydrate frequently, and prepare for thermal stress along the line. Wandering showers cannot be ruled out, but the bigger story will be warmth.

By Monday, hot breaks. The climax will return to the 60s, with cooler and cooler conditions that match the average in early October. Cool seasonal weather continues until next week, with highs mainly until the mid-1960s.

Enjoy the sun and warmth that lasts, but remember – the marathon forecast looks hot, so plan ahead.

Enjoy the night and take care of yourself!
