WWE star unseen Smackdown's bad feelings about Chris Benoit Tribute Show

  • by admin

Former WWE star Jimmy Wang Yang said he was upset about attending Chris Benoit's tribute to the Smackdown Show.

In 2007, Chris Benoit killed his wife Nancy, their son Daniel and himself, creating one of the darkest moments in professional wrestling history. WWE aired a tribute show for him, but he didn't know he was responsible. At the moment, the company also canceled the storyline of Vince McMahon's death.

Former WWE star Jimmy Wang Yang, who was on the roster at the time, recalled the situation and said he no longer cared about Chris Benoit's wrestling skills because of his behavior. On cheap calorie works, he said, “I don't care about his ability to wrestle right now. He did disqualify him, for me, as a wrestler. I remember our meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas. The week before, Vince was blown down by a limousine, so we got the commemoration in Corpus Christi, so they brought us onto the stage.

“I looked around and looked at me, Bruce Campbell was right behind me, the army of darkness. I was like, 'Oh my God! Bruce Campbell! I like you so much!' Oh, sorry, too much, but I love you!

“I turned around and Vince was there, and all of a sudden, I heard Vickie Guerrero screaming and like, 'Oh my god, no!' I thought, “Oh, damn, what?” Sorry, I turned around again and Vince announced what happened, for example, they found Chris dead, his wife and his children. ”

Jimmy Wang Yang explains why he pays tribute to Chris Benoit, who is not showing up on WWE SmackDown

Jimmy Wang Yang initially worked hard to handle the news. He said he even tried to convince himself that death could have been caused by robbery. “I looked straight at Brian Kendrick and looked at him and was like, 'Yes, did he finally do it? We both thought of the same things we had before as he had experienced.”

“But, after that, I thought, ‘No, I don’t think about it, he did own this mansion in Atlanta, maybe someone robbed him and killed him and his family.’ At that time, it was crazy mixed emotions.

“My intuition felt weird. I thought, 'I don't know if I want to pay tribute to Chris Benoit. I need to see more facts about what happened and all of these things.' Then, during the day, all of this stuff starts to leak.”

As the details emerged, he did not show Smackdown, and later was cleared by WWE despite the initial trouble. “And I didn't show Smackdown because I didn't want to be part of what happened, and I said, 'I won't go.' And I didn't show Smackdown, I didn't show Smackdown because I was just uncomfortable.”

“I had a bad feeling about what happened. I didn't show Smackdown, it was a little trouble, but then everything was cleared after everything came out. I just didn't want to be a part of it. I didn't care. The last thing he did was stick with me, yes.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
