Saratoga Springs, NY – The Skidmore College Women’s Tennis Team successfully hosted the 2025 Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship in 2025, ending its final day, winning the singles title by freshman Ginevra Muratori, winning the singles title in competition with other freshman Amelie Gonzalez and winning the game in the competition.

Singles champion

  • Muratori started her day by cruising RPI’s Kaaviya Kannan in the semifinals, admitting to winning the game 6-1, 6-0 and making it to the championship game.
  • In the championship game, Muratori beat NYU's Victoria Wang with a 6-4, 6-2 victory, Skidmore's first singles title as Risa Fukushige won next month's ITA Cup in 2018.
  • More notably, Muratori's championship running race saw the freshman's face and defeated the tall seed opponent in almost every round.

Tag Team Champion

  • Muratori/Gonzalez beat NYU’s Kast/Bondarenko with an 8-5 victory in the semifinals to advance to the championship game and secure entry to next month’s ITA Cup Championship.
  • Facing RPI's Jaiswal/Ridenour in the championship game, the purebred duo jumped out with a 3-0 lead but couldn't resist the relentless engineers making a comeback and fell 3-8.
