Omaha Weather: Multiple Storm Opportunities This Week
Meteorologist Luke Vickery made the prediction. You believe it. Well, it's getting sunny outside today. It began to warm. We were very hot. We got the temperature in the lower 90s and now we have transitioned to more wet modes here. As we move into the next few days, the pattern is also slightly cooler. Let me show you the current Super Doppler radar. Now, we do have some sporadic showers and thunderstorms. We had a storm around 6 or 7:00. It creates an outflow boundary and generates enough lift for more scattered showers and storms. If you are near the valleys in the north, near Blair and Washington counties, and also into Harrison County, Iowa, then we have a line where we have these scattering of showers and thunderstorms. I want to spin west because that's what it's going to be later tonight. Now, we are looking at Hastings Radar, which looks at this carefully. Now, the outflow border passes through the Big Island area. So, you know, these are still 100 miles or more from the Omaha area. But at least that outflow border shows that these storms are weakening a little. So maybe when you get here, you might break up more on arrival and we'll show you Storm Predivator. We do have impacts on weather showers and thunderstorms. It looks likely in the next few days. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Serious threats are very low. It seems like there will be no flushing here any day, but we will have to consistently watch these storms on the radar, almost all day long. Although your location may not rain throughout the entire time frame. This is radar and satellite. Those scattered showers and thunderstorms in central Nebraska are a larger upper low. And note how the storm predictors are lagging behind here. These storms are actually much faster than what our prediction model predicts. So, this time range of 330 here may reach the western edge of our viewing area, and may wish to speed up a little bit. Perhaps the Lancaster and Gage counties in these time frames are closer to Sanders counties. But they do want to weaken and break down a little in the morning. So you might rain in the morning and then into the afternoon. We may have some dry time throughout the night and there are still some lingering showers in the area. Now, we will be here for a brief night here on Wednesday and it looks like we will be mostly dry. Maybe there was some scattering, but in the very isolated thunderstorm on Thursday morning, we almost waited until Thursday's day, maybe it was when we entered afternoon and evening. There are also some scattered showers and thunderstorms that may benefit Iowa, and we must note now that it doesn’t seem like a huge risk of flooding here in terms of rain potential. Maybe you get an inch here by Thursday afternoon, but remember that there may be another round of games to watch out for on Friday. You can see those lightning strikes looking north from Charles Schwab. The current temperature is almost wide at 73 degrees. Now we're outside in the 70s. It looks like we will start tomorrow from the mid-60s, but in the afternoon we will heat up the temperature again. I'll notice, though, that if you live on the Nebraska side, you know, it's a little cooler to the west, you might be cooler because tomorrow you're going to rain for tomorrow. Still affecting the weather on Thursday and Friday. More scattered showers and thunderstorms these days instead of rinsing. Just like many Thursdays, you'll have dry time and we'll wait for the evening time, maybe a sporadic shower and thunderstorm. We will also watch Friday Friday before Friday, but we will do dry out on weekends, but we do have a little warmer. Yes, we have a G.
