Smith has been a reliable and versatile game on the Cowboys’ offensive line for his first three seasons.
Although he was selected as the 24th draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Smith began his career, starting with a position switch, turning to a left tackle to supplement the injured Tyron Smith. Tyler Smith will continue to start all 17 games in his rookie season and continue to play the role of Cowboys' versatile options.
Since then, Smith has consolidated himself as the main left back, earning Pro Bowl honors for the second straight time in 2024.
The Cowboys were busy locking key players into long-term contracts last month. Smith's expansion follows an extension from cornerback Daron Bland and tight-fitting Tyler Ferguson.
