Jordan Schultz Report the Lion and WR Jameson Williams A three-year extension has been agreed to be worth $83 million.
According to Schultz, Williams received a $67 million guarantee as part of the deal.
The Lions are leading the way with the best football against Williams, and it seems they are willing to let him be locked in for the foreseeable future rather than forcing him to participate in the fifth year option.
Williams, 24, is the first team of the All-American team, the first team of the entire lineup, and the SEC co-special team Player of the Year in 2021. The Lions traded in the 2022 draft and replaced him with 12th place.
Williams needed surgery to suffer an ACL tear in the national championship game, but he was able to return later in the rookie season.
He signed a four-year, $17,461,789 contract that included a $9,879,483 signing bonus. The Lions have secured his fifth-year option in 2026, which is expected to cost $15.493 billion.
In 2024, Williams played 15 games with the Lions and scored 58 passes on 101 goals, including 1,001 yards and 7 touchdowns and 11 carrys for a total of 61 yards and another touchdown.
