The woman, who was asked not to be named, told 10 news locally that she met Elmoncy Sercle on Sunday afternoon at Serena Hotel on 2820 NE 214th St. in order to sell him a pair of used sneakers.

“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet, and I wasn't happy with that,” the woman said. “I mean, you can have all the sneakers I want. I mean, I don't care. I don't wear them. And, they're just stinky old sneakers. But people love weird things.”

Then, she said, things got scary. Sercle, Southwest Miami-Dade, ran out of the room with what she thought was the shoes, she said. She said she ran to him to the parking lot.

She said when she faced Sails, “He made a three-pointer and actually hit me with a car. He ran away.”

The woman said, “By the grace of God, I am still standing today.”

She said the incident was not only frightening, but also “very strange.”

“I've never experienced anything like this before,” she said. “Obviously, I've met a lot of people who have enough fetishes that no one can do anything with that.”

Police arrested SERCLE on Thursday for aggravating the battery.

They said that after reviewing his background, he was the subject of other events involving the same modus operandi.

Local 10 news is working to obtain surveillance videos of the incident.
