Exclusive: One of the more polarized court cases in recent memory is about to receive Hollywood treatment. Sources told Deadline that Prime Video and Warner Bros Television are developing a new limited series around the Karen Read trial, with Elizabeth Banks taking to the center of the case to play the woman.
Justin Noble serves as the exhibition host and will serve as the series and as executive producer, and David E. Kelley is also the executive product. Noble reached an overall deal with Warner Bros. TV.
Banks will also perform production with her production partners Max Handelman and Krissy Wall through her brownstone banner. Matt Tinker will be produced with Matt Tinker through his David E. Kelley Productions Banner. Jen Sargent, Marshall Lewy, Aaron Hart and Jeni Mulein will be produced through their Wondery Banner, and Rachel Stockman and Dan Abrams will be produced through their legal & crime companies.

Banks and Brownstone were rejected by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Sewet and Cole. The nobles were rejected by WME and Hansen Jacobsen. Kelly was rejected by the CAA.
