Watch Guinness Trailer Home: Steven Knight Previews New Historical Drama Show

  • by admin

The death of a parent is the most traumatic moment in a person's life. But for the four siblings at the center of the Guinness historical series Guinness House (from Steven Knight, the creator of Oscar-nominated Peaky Blinders), their wealthy and noble fathers’ demise are just the beginning of their problems. It became complicated to compete for the offspring of the late Sir Benjamin Guinness when reading the will of the beer tycoon. The Guinness House’s new trailer gives us a peek at everything before premiering on September 25.

“This is a late father who determines the fate of his children. The will determines the trajectory of each sibling. What better place than this?” the Knight told Zong. “They all received everything they received. They were not happy.”

From there, the eight-episode series unleashes an epic story inspired by one of Europe's most famous and enduring dynasties. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, House of Guinness explores the fate of Benjamin Guinness's four adult children — Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Enola Holmes star Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O'Shea) — as well as a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.

Grimaces abound in the trailer, which hints at the harsh (and permanent contact) futures of Sir Benjamin's eldest son Arthur and youngest son Edward. Boyle portrays the family’s new director Arthur, who explains that even if their fates are intertwined, the two brothers are “not the opposite”. “They are tied together – [with] The actor said: “Arthur just wants to go to London, have sex, drink, smoke and have craic.” In other words, Arthur is very grateful.

Edward, on the other hand, is a brewery. He spent years preparing to run a family business and was rarely distracted by the costumes brought by the Guinness name. “He is very principled,” Partridge told Zonte his character. “I love that Edward really knows what he thinks, and his confidence. He can be strong when he needs to, and he has confidence.”

But Edward's courage (and other members of his family) will be tested as Guinness House threatens to explode like a powder bucket. Charming brewery foreman Sean Rafferty (BAFTA nominee James Norton) announced in the trailer that when someone’s name is Guinness, “of course” will be trouble. Throughout the clip, gunfire and fiery explosions, fierce screams and some stuffy eyes rang out. The rebellion had entered Emerald Island, and it was possible that it would fall over everything the Guinness clan cherished. If only this brood can work together to bring the environment to the upcoming storm.

“The decisions made by these roles on personal issues will have an impact on the future of Ireland, which is a burden,” Knight explained. “The pressure adds fuel and energy to all of these relationships.”

He said that while writers and executive producers were unable to access certain intimate details of their characters’ 1800s past – “no Facebook, no Instagram page,” Knight did work tirelessly to create faithful novels inspired by “excellent” real-life events. “What I'm going to do is take what these family members do, what they say, what they do, what they make, the mistakes they make and use them as stepping stones. Then, I have to fill the gap myself.” “It's just a question: 'This is the role of this person. That's why they do it.'”

Series star Norton can't wait to get viewers to open this stout yarn. “[The scripts] Rich, full of brilliant characters – a period of history. The actor said it was a fun, fun, smoky, sexy, sexy, and it was a great story with a great family dynamic. The show has it all – rich characters, smart relationships and a sexy, textured world. ”
