Exclusive: Willem Dafoe and Greta Lee attend the Venice Film Festival this weekend in the play of Kent Jones Fame, The world premieres on the Orizzonti sidebar.
Dafoe quietly excels as the protagonist Ed Saxberger, a forgotten New York poet who works at the post office.
Saxberger’s life on the Poetry Tour was a distant memory that was suddenly pushed to his chunky life when he was “rediscovered” by a group of young admirers in the late 1970s New York City and the nostalgic young admirers of the late 1970s New York City and the early 1980s.
Previous life Star Greta Lee plays Gloria, an old woman who has also been designated as the “tragic heroine” by the organization.

“I can see the characters. I can see where they hang out and where they make a living. I can see what is now New York and what is now disappearing past New York, one person is meticulously layered in another place. I can feel the existence of poetry, forever vulnerable, forever the best freedom.”
