Only 34 years old Austin Butler Already played some pretty iconic movie roles, including as Feyd-Rautha in “Dune” and titular roles in the 2022 musical Elvis.
Butler has built a reputation in the industry as he dedicated his entire content to the role he plays, from training with the Navy SEALs to digging into Elvis’ voices to make it right.
But is there such a way to act too far? After Austin Butler revealed that he had done his best to connect with his latest role in the movie Theft, some social media users believe the character is scheduled to be released in theaters in late August 2025.

For those strangers, Butler is very committed to his art. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the “Birth Switch” star revealed that while preparing to play Elvis, he hired a vocal coach to help make sure his voice is “same” as the rock star.

Despite public disagreements on the matter, Butler revealed that he had a specific purpose to sleep in the scene, explaining that it helped him connect with the character on a deeper level.
“When you shoot a movie, there are a lot of things that take any responsibility for you. You have the lights and cameras, and the scene doesn't have a ceiling because they have to illuminate it from above. Look around temptingly and break the hallucinations. So the more I can deceive myself, the more important it is, the more important it is,” he said.

Butler plays Hank, a former baseball player who is involved in crime life in New York City in his new film Theft. The film is different from his previous work, especially because the role he plays (although his criminal background) is similar to himself.
However, Butler said accepting the role was very scary for him, as he had begun to act as a way to escape from his childhood reality. He explained that being able to portray different characters made him feel “free.”
He admits that playing a role like himself has left Butler “nowhere to hide and makes me feel vulnerable.”
