Ever wonder what it would look like to see a stadium full of people dressed up for women’s eyes? At the Kali Uchis concert at Chase Center on Monday night, the answer was full, fierce, feminine.
It can be argued that fans of the Grammy-winning Colombian-American singers dressed up for Uchis' eyes in particular. The crowd is a sea of pink and purple covered with ruffles, lace, flowers and butterflies, in harmony with her album art. Cleavage and stilettos are proudly exhibited. Even the men present had a brief, sporty softness, ethereal look, jewellery pop sounds and headscarfs.
Are you often heard this sentence online? “Divine femininity.”
“Kali Uchis is everything to me,” said Aurelia Loughborough. “I am obsessed with her music. I think she brings such a bright and passionate and sacred woman to the world.”

In a tribute to Uchis’ costumes, fans added homemade embellishments, citing specific songs or lyrics. Some brought beaded bracelets to share with other fans. Nail art is at its peak in the best way. (In honor of her sold-out performance, Chase Center makes Uchis a gift box with pink nails inside.)
“It’s all about the gentle times,” Eryka Vargas said. “We have too much roughness and we need to celebrate softness.”
This softness is artificial fur, velvet, silk and tassel. Many outfits have a strong Latino vibe with layered gold chains, denim and a Banners.

On stage, Uchis assembles all the adorable costumes in the crowd and plays a video compilation of family movies, as well as intimate immigration vignettes. “Without immigration, there is no America,” she said in the video.
After a brief gloomy moment, Uchis gained energy with “Si no Es Contigo”. The crowded stadium dances and sings, and the pink hair ribbon works in line with the beat.
