Mookie Betts stays at shortstop, Teoscar Hernández starting lineup to the right of the Dodgers

Mookie Betts returned to shortstop in shortstop, and on Tuesday, Teoscar Hernández stayed on the right field for the Dodgers, the second day, with two suspicious field matches in the outfield leading to two runs, losing a 4-3 walk in the final game, falling into the final Colorado Rockies.

Hernández's defense became increasingly a problem for manager Dave Roberts, with the loss on Monday followed by Roberts' meeting. Dodgers Baseball Action President Andrew Friedman; Betts expressed willingness to go back to the right territory of winning the six-time Golden Gloves title.

Hernández has a defensive war of -0.4, ranking 64th in the National League right fielder, and his two mistakes are fourth in the league.

“He has to get better there,” Roberts said after Monday's Hernández game. “It's not a lack of effort. But, you know, we just need to be better. We did it. ”

Meanwhile, Bates leads the AFC Average twice and becomes the right fielder for the Boston Red Sox. But he played shortstop full-time this season.

“Defense is an important part of playing field baseball and winning baseball,” Roberts said.

The situation where Betts moved to the infield was arguably weakening the Dodgers in two ways: Hernandez's defense and Bates' offense. In-games, especially shortstop attacks, are much higher than the mental taxation of .242/.312/.370, which cuts career-lower careers this season.

At least in the short term, returning Betts to the right field could mean using Alex Freeland or Miguel Rojas in shortstop. Freeland played nearly 300 games in the minor's shortstop, while Rojas played 940 games in the Grand Slam.

Hernández was second with 74 RBIs and tied for second with 20 home runs before replacing the left field (a smaller position than the right field) in place of Michael Conforto, whose .190 hit average is the worst of at least 300 bats.

It might be easier to move Betts back to the outfield when utility players Tommy Edman, Hyeseong Kim and Kiké Hernández return from the injured roster. Kim will start the rehabilitation mission this week is the furthest and can come back early next week.
